Remarks: Provenance: Abydos is mentioned as the provenance by Mariette, Catalogue General des Monuments d'Abydos, Paris 1880. no. 1498, and by Daressy, Ostraca Caire , 55. However, some boxes with objects found at Mariette's Deir el-Medina excxavation in 1862 are known to have erroneously been labelled as originating from Abydos. Cf. Demaree, The Ax iqr n Ra -stelae, 40. Thus it is possible that O. Cairo CG. 25227 originates from this particular Deir el-Medina excavation, especially on account of the proper names (Toivari-Viitala).
