Remarks: | Provenance: note that many of the Strasbourg ostraca were excavated by J.E. Quibell in the Ramesseum in 1895-1896 and given to the Bibliothèque Nationale et Universitaire by W.M. Flinders Petrie in 1918 (Koenig, Ostraca Strasbourg , 1; Spiegelberg, ZÄS 58 (1923), 25, note 4). Publication: the photographs of obverse and reverse are given in reversed order when compared to the published facsimiles and transcriptions. Müller, LingAeg 7 (2000), 281, keeps to the order of the photographs. Date(s) attributed: in view of the names almost certainly end dyn. 19; applying the criteria set forth by Janssen, Village Varia , 103-105, would point to a date around his group B, i.e. year 2-3 of Siptah (Demaree). Terminology: in the transcription of the obverse read the negative n instead of the red numbers 40 and on the reverse the total number of men is written in red (by mistake omitted from the transcription). Read wDA.t 9 left of obv. 6 (Allam, WdO 30 (1999), 143; Müller, LingAeg 7 (2000), 281). Names, Titles: as the photograph shows the name in obv. 1 is clearly Nxt-Mnw ; the name in obv. 10 is clearly PA-im.y-r-iH.w and in obv. 8 read MnnA instead of Mnxt . In rev. 1 read ~ Knr # (Müller, LingAeg 7 (2000), 281). |
