Description: | Dark brown papyrus, four fragments: upper right fragment (Turin) 22.5 x 31 cm, lower right fragment (Turin) 21 x 16 cm, upper left fragment (Turin frgt. gamma ) 14.5 x 13 cm, lower left fragment (Milan) 17 x 30. 6 cm. Only upper and lower left fragments join. Black and red ink; recto 4 columns: Turin recto I ends of 6 lines, Turin recto II 12 + 10 lines (lines on unpublished lower frgt. here numbered x + 13 to x + 22), Milan recto I ends of 3 lines (probably ends of lines of Turin recto II), Milan + Turin gamma recto II 16 lines (here numbered x + 1 to x + 17 ); verso 4 columns: Milan + Turin gamma verso I 2 5 lines, with separate text of 6 lines to the left of verso I 1-5, Milan verso II 6 lines followed by a blank and 2 lines written upside down, Milan + Turin verso III 14 + 10 lines ( after 14 numbered x + 15 etc.), Turin verso IV 25 lines. Top recto = top verso. Palimpsest; traces of previous text visible on recto and verso. Special events: (1) sending a letter to the vizier and the scribe of the mat, who are asked for grain rations, but write back about Meshwesh coming to Thebes ( Turin recto II 7-9); (2) collecting and redistributing copper tools (recto II 10-12); (3) court case involving the scribe 1r and Imn-wa ; the latter(?) is to pay a fine; Imn-wa is paid by the woodcutter 2nsw-ms for something he has obtained from the Rebu (recto Milan II x + 11 and x + 12 ). |
