Description: | Papyrus sheet, 19.5 x 22 cm. Two joins are visible, 3 and 15 cm from the top of recto. Only 2 strips at the top of the recto discernible. Damaged. Palimpsest. Recto V/H, verso H/V. Top recto = bottom verso. In black ink 15 lines on the recto and 12 lines (including address) on the verso. Address at 2 cm from the bottom of the verso. Damaged right edge damaged and some gaps have caused some loss of writing in several places. |

Contents: | A long letter to the necropolis scribe 9Hwty-ms (who recently left on a journey south to Nubia) from the necropolis scribe Bw-th-Imn , the chantress of Amon-Re 5d-m-dwA.t and the chantress of Amon 1m.t-Sri.t , first expressing their hope that the gods will assist him and bring him back safe. They further answer to some matters communicated verbally by the carrier (workman 1r-n-Imn-pna-n=f ) of a letter sent by 9Hwty-ms : the matter of the spears, the matter of the Medjay Ks , the matter of the son of Iw-nfr . Finally they inform him that the little children and 1m.t-Sri.t and her girl are all right. See Remarks. |
